McTamney's Shipping Policies

We offer shipping within Canada to most addresses, but we do not currently ship select products such as guitars and instruments internationally. We may not ship certain items or products at our discretion.

Shipping Rates: Shipping fees for instruments depend on the size, weight, and the shipping service chosen.

While we primarily use Canada Post for shipments, we may also use Purolator or UPS if their services or rates offer better value for our customers.

Please note that some shipments may experience delays due to business hours, shipping service schedules, or weather conditions.


Shipping Details:

  • All orders are subject to verification.
  • Sales tax will be charged on applicable orders.
  • For out-of-province purchases, tax will be calculated based on your shipping address.
  • To see the exact price before you complete your purchase, simply add items to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. You’ll see all charges before placing your order.
  • Shipping fees are calculated before taxes.
  • Once your order is placed, the total shipping and handling charges will not increase.

At checkout, you'll be able to choose from an available shipping method or Store-pickup. We also provide shipping quotes when applicable.

Shipping Fees: On all Guitars and Basses, we offer flat-rate shipping. Our flat rates for larger items like instruments include applicable taxes and basic shipping coverage.

Please note: the standard shipping cost covers up to $100 in insurance. If you'd like additional insurance, please contact us for more details and pricing.

Shipping & Returns Policy

At McTamney's, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. However, if you need to return an item, please note the following:

Return Process:

  • All returns must be initiated within 30 days of receiving your order.
  • To begin a return, please contact our customer service team at info@mctamneys.com for instructions and a return authorization.
  • Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging, with no signs of use or damage.

Customer Responsibility for Return Shipping:

  • The customer is responsible for all return shipping fees.
  • You will need to arrange and pay for the shipping of the returned item back to us.
  • We recommend using a traceable shipping method to ensure your return is safely delivered. McTamney’s is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping.

Insurance for Returns:

  • Customers are responsible for purchasing insurance on returned items. Please make sure to insure your return shipment for its full value, as McTamney’s is not liable for any damage or loss that occurs during the return process.
  • If you choose not to purchase insurance, McTamney’s cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss incurred during the return shipping.

Refunds & Exchanges:

  • Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process a refund or exchange based on the condition of the item.
  • Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment, minus any shipping fees and handling costs.
  • Please note that any shipping fees and taxes are non-refundable.

McTamney's Guitar Shipping Policy

At McTamney's, we ensure your guitar arrives safely and securely. Please review the following details about our guitar shipping process:

Shipping Locations:

  • We offer shipping within Canada to most addresses. Unfortunately, we do not currently ship guitars internationally.

Flat Rate Shipping Fees:

  • We charge a flat rate shipping fee for all guitar orders, which covers shipping and handling costs.
  • The flat rate is calculated based on average rates and packaging material costs.
  • This flat rate fee will be displayed at checkout, so you can review it before completing your order.

Shipping Methods:

  • While we primarily use Canada Post for shipments, we may also use Purolator or UPS if their services offer a better value for the customer.
  • You may have the option to choose from available shipping methods at checkout, such as expedited shipping, and see the estimated delivery times.

Processing & Handling:

  • All orders are processed within 5 business days. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email confirmation with tracking details.
  • During busy periods (like holidays), processing times may be slightly longer.

Delivery Times:

  • Delivery times vary depending on your location and the shipping method chosen at checkout.
  • Expedited shipping options may be available for faster delivery, and estimated delivery times will be provided during checkout.

Insurance & Damage:

  • All guitars are shipped with up to $100 in insurance for protection against damage or loss during transit.
  • If you'd like additional insurance coverage, please contact us before placing your order to arrange and purchase additional coverage. 

Signature Required:

  • For security, all guitar shipments require a signature upon delivery. If you're unavailable to sign for the package, please arrange for someone else to do so or request an alternative delivery method.

Customer Responsibility:

  • The customer is responsible for providing the correct shipping address during checkout.
  • If there are issues with delivery (such as an incorrect address or missed delivery), please contact the carrier directly to resolve the matter.

Shipping Delays:

  • Occasionally, delays may occur due to weather, carrier issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. While we do our best to ensure timely delivery, McTamney’s is not responsible for delays caused by these factors.

Returns & Exchanges:

Please refer to our Returns & Exchanges Policy for information about returning or exchanging your guitar. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, and guitars must be returned in their original condition.
